Barbara Nytko is the interim Executive Director of Community Care East York. Barbara brings a tremendous background in services for seniors at both the policy level and services provider level. Most recently, Barbara was the Toronto Central LHIN Senior Consultant for the Aging at Home Program and previously led consulting work to develop a model of Supportive Housing and Wellness Centre for Waterloo Wellington.  Barbara brings many years experience as a systems planner and senior research advisor with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, focusing her work on the Aging at Home Strategy and Long Term Care Redevelopment.  Throughout the 1990’s, Barbara was the Executive Director and CEO of Copernicus Lodge, a continuing care senior centre in Toronto.  Barbara also sat on the Board of Directors of St. Joseph’s Health Centre for three terms and is currently in her second term on the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals.
