O'Connor House
Located just east of Coxwell Avenue at 570 O'Connor Drive in East York,O'Connor House is designed to accommodate ten elderly persons who want to maintain their independence, but are experiencing some difficulties coping with the activities of daily living. The 24-hour staff provide the necessary support that enables O'Connor House residents to continue in their accustomed lifestyle in a warm, caring home environment.
O'Connor House provides a family-living concept with daily opportunity for socializing.
Features include:
- Private bedrooms that can be furnished with residents' own furnishings
- Phone/cable outlets in each bedroom
- All bedrooms and bathrooms are equipped with emergency buzzers
- Easy access to patio and off-street garden area
- Smoke-free environment
- Stores and banks are within easy walking distance. For longer trips, there is a bus stop right at O'Connor House's door that goes to Coxwell subway station.
Services include:
- Home cooked meals
- Pesonal Care and Housekeeping services, including linen changing, are performed weekly
- Caring staff who are available 24-hours a day
- Residents have access to a house physician and medication management.
- Recreational/educational programming is also available, as are all community programs and services of Community Care East York.
At O'Connor House an independent lifestyle is encouraged and there is always respect for residents' privacy.
Families/friends are encouraged to visit with residents both at O'Connor House and in the community.
